  • Sokolniki Suche 2026: The Level Crossing Collision
    Sep 17 2026

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

On September 9, 2026, a routine passenger journey across Poland ended in tragedy when the IC Koziołek collided with a cement mixer truck at a level crossing in Sokolniki Suche.

The impact derailed the locomotive and several carriages, leaving one passenger dead and multiple people injured.

In this episode of Final Signal, we reconstruct the moments leading up to the crash, the emergency response, the investigation, and the wider debate over railway crossing safety that followed.

A few seconds at a level crossing were enough to change an ordinary journey forever.

  • The Buzzer (UVB-76): The Radio Station That Never Stops
    Sep 10 2026

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

For decades, a strange signal has occupied the shortwave frequency 4625 kHz.

Most of the time, it is nothing more than a repetitive buzzing sound.

Then, without warning, the signal stops.

    A human voice appears.

    Numbers.

    Names.

    Call signs.

Fragments that sound like coded instructions.

    And then the buzzing returns.

Known to radio enthusiasts as The Buzzer or UVB-76, the mysterious station has been monitored since the late Soviet era and is widely believed to be connected in some way to Russian military communications.

But its exact purpose remains unclear.

In this episode of Final Signal, we explore the history of 4625 kHz, the strange voice transmissions, suspected transmitter locations, the abandoned Povarovo site and the theories that have grown around the signal — including the famous claim that it may be connected to a nuclear “doomsday” system.

    What is documented?

    What is speculation?

And who are these messages actually meant for?

Because sometimes the most unsettling signal is not the one we cannot hear…

but the one we can hear perfectly and still cannot understand.

  • Lac-Mégantic: The Runaway Train That Destroyed a Town
    Sep 2 2026

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

n the early hours of July 6, 2013, an unmanned freight train carrying crude oil began rolling downhill toward the center of Lac-Mégantic, Quebec.

Minutes later, the runaway train entered the town at high speed, derailed, and released millions of liters of crude oil, triggering a devastating fire that killed 47 people and destroyed much of downtown.

In this episode of Final Signal, we reconstruct the chain of failures behind the disaster from train securement and braking systems to company safety culture, tank car design and regulatory oversight.

How did a parked train become a runaway catastrophe, and how many chances were there to stop it before it reached the town?
