Also with the schedule, the gate fee nobody expects, and the Accu-Mental Forecast. Short version on the weather: 99 on Thursday, and no, you do not want that rain you're wishing for. It turns the place into peanut butter and adds thirty pounds to your car.

Fifty cars took the green at Pacific Raceways. Fewer than twenty were still running at the checker. And in two full days of racing, Chris — who was chief judge for the weekend — handed out exactly one severe penalty.
