Indian Matchmaking is a series on Netflix that presents arranged marriages and the process of matchmaking with a very narrow field of view. The premise of the show is that Mumbai's top matchmaker Sima Taparia introduces us to her 8 clients that are looking for a suitable partner to get married. What follows is a joyride of cringeworthy moments. We do not hate the show. We have a love-hate relationship with it. But we are scared that the show might set off a trend of hiring a matchmaker and making them go the distance to find a partner tailormade for you - which is IMPOSSIBLE.
