Four women discussing misogyny. No clear definition. And 50% of the panel apparently questioning whether it even exists. So, how exactly are we supposed to have a meaningful conversation about something we can't agree is real?

In this episode, I'm calling out the gaps in the Loose Women discussion and asking some uncomfortable questions. Are we genuinely challenging misogyny, or are we so accustomed to the attitudes that sustain it that we no longer recognise them?

Let's get one thing straight: misogyny and patriarchy are not separate conversations. They're interconnected parts of the same power structure. Patriarchy reinforces male dominance and gendered inequalities, while misogyny can punish, shame and undermine women who challenge the expectations placed upon them.

From everyday sexism and double standards to victim-blaming, controlling behaviour and the dismissal of women's experiences, these attitudes don't exist in a vacuum. They are reinforced by the culture we live in, the language we use and the behaviours we excuse.

And when we're talking about domestic abuse, these conversations matter. Because if we fail to recognise the wider patterns of power, entitlement and control, how can we properly understand what women are experiencing?

You don't have to agree with me. But if we're going to debate misogyny, let's at least understand what we're debating.

Because perhaps the most uncomfortable question isn't whether misogyny exists.

It's why so many people still struggle to recognise it.
