  • Doctor DILF 2.1: Is DEI dead?
    Oct 7 2026

Kicking off Series 2, Dr Simon Fox chats with series regular, and DEI expert, James Winstanley about DEI in the workplace, corporate Pride sponsorship, and setting up inclusive networks during your career.

In the wake of extreme right wing doctrine, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies are being rolled back, potentially exposing minority populations to unfair treatment and discrimination. Doctor DILF poses the question: Is DEI dead?

James Winstanley unpacks the history of DEI, why and how it is now being challenged, and discusses what the future holds for minority populations in the workplace.

The related contentious subject of corporate Pride sponsorship is also discussed, what happens when business support is withdrawn, and whether we need corporate connections at all.

Lastly, employee resource groups (ERGs) are examined, as Doctor DILF asks why they might be important to our wellbeing during our careers.

Helpful links are provided at the end of the episode as ever, and keep listening right to the end for the Next Time trailer!

  • Doctor DILF 2.0: Series 2 Introduction
    Sep 30 2026

In this episode, Dr Simon Fox introduces Series 2 of Doctor DILF, the health and wellbeing podcast for older gay and bisexual men. This episode sets out the podcast's mission - not to simply describe the challenges to the health of our communities, but to unpick them, to employ critical thinking, and to ask important questions about who we are, where we've been, and where we go from here.

Doctor DILF Series 2 covers the rollback of DEI measures in the workplace in the face of extreme right wing ideology and discrimination in the workplace. Will queer communities have to hide their true selves at work in the future?

We look at Prime Minister Andy Burnham's proposed new National Care Service and ask if older queer communities will be included in the wake of the DEI rollback?

Sexually transmitted infections and associated conditions are fact-checked and myth busted. What is shigella? What is mpox? And can gonorrhoea really be resistant to antibiotics?

Finally, we delve into the legacy of the AIDS epidemic of the 1980s and 1990s, showcasing new research and talking with two HIV+ men who were there at the time. What is the legacy of the epidemic, and what is it like ageing with HIV?

Doctor DILF is about our health, our bodies, and our communities. The conversation is far from over, so let's get talking!
