  • S1E6 - Retiring From Becoming with Nadine Artemis
    Nov 12 2024

It’s a pleasure to bring Nadine Artemis to the Debut stage, an aromatic lead woman, a maker in all sense of the word, a Canadian forest goddess, I truly cannot begin to express my exuberance when she agreed to speak with me on the show (I was kicking my legs like an upside down beetle lol)

Alanis Morissette described her as “true-sense visionary” and that’s truly how I hope you feel too listening to this today (!!)

Nadine talks about the idea of “retiring from becoming”. To meet yourself where you’re at. She has a relaxing way of looking at pivoting your career goals, your lifestyle, it’s all part of the sauce. She reaffirms that discernment and creativity are things that exist inside all of us, and that facing the sun beams no matter what life throws will be time well spent.

We talk about her connection to nature and the elements in a way that feels magical and innate. She unlocks inner wisdom in all she touches, and her books Renegade Beauty and Holistic Dental Care are true stand-outs.

Living Libations is her lovingly founded brand I got into in 2020 that completely changed the way I view my skin care practice, and invigorated the ritual of connecting to spirituality in how we care for our body and skin.

We also geek out about amber lightbulbs, team no fluorescent lights 4ever.

    XO, Angela

  • S1E4 - Hiking the John Muir Trail + Nature Centered Business Ownership with Sarah Kettles Bowlin
    Sep 17 2024

Sarah Kettles Bowlin joins us today to talk about how she left the path of executive leadership to pursue owning land in Terlingua Ranch, which she now hosts wilderness experiences on her campsite, La Loma Camp. She walks through how she hiked the John Muir Trail (Yosemite to Mount Whitney) where she received two pieces of life altering news, it truly felt cinematic AF.

Brett (Sarah's husband) co-runs the entrepreneurial pursuits with her, and she talks about his passion for cooking that birthed their second business, Bowl and Kettle (a play on their last names together, tres romantique!)

You can find Sarah lore here:

  • S1E3 - Creative Pillars + Returning to Play with Scott Hoying
    Sep 3 2024

Well, well, well- look who got together to cackle and cry!

I have known Scott Hoying for over 16 years and had the honor of having him on the show today. We briefly got into high school lore, but the episode is focused more on creative processes, vulnerability in our work, reprogramming the meaning of success, chasing intentional dreams, burn out, creating art to feel something vs the outcome, imposter syndrome, we truly go THROUGH IT.

I read him a poem that encapsulates what deep friendship means to me, Scott poetically discusses "make things in your room and you'll be put in the right rooms."

Equal parts giggling and sentimental feels.

I hope you leave inspired, courageous, and understood.

He needs no introduction but you can find Scott here! as well as Pentatonix here

I'm a clothing reseller and do that over here.

Personal rants and rambles over here.

    Enjoy and XO

    Angela

  • S1E2 - Slice of Dreams with Bronwen, Co-Founder of Naughty Pie Nature
    Aug 27 2024

Debut is a show centered around interviewing brand owners on why they made the big jump, how they did it, what they learned, the entire enchilada. Or in this case, pizza.

Meet Bronwen Kinzler-Britton, co-founder of Naughty Pie Nature.

Bronwen takes us on a journey of growing up in Austin, Tx and having some lost years of knowing something bigger was in store for her, and picking up and moving to Brooklyn. The most beautiful part to me about this interview was how honest she was about the fear of going for it without a parachute, and sticking your neck out there to make your dream come true.

From there she was able to work under Paulie Gee himself, one of the most well known pizza entrepreneurs in Brooklyn. After that, Bronwen expanded her knowledge of italian cuisine by studying under Missy Robbins, an american chef with 2 Michelin restaurants under her belt, and a contestant on Top Chef Masters.

Heavy themes of art of start, sending the email, trusting your gut, and pivoting when you've outgrown a circumstance.

As always on this show, less about the particulars of pizza, and more about the grit and fast track to growth entrepreneurs face, and how no one has the secret sauce in life. (If i had to bet though, Bronwen's pizza sauce is as close as you can get.)

    Enjoy, that's Amore!

  • Salmon, Pray, Love with VP of Marketing of Honey Smoked Fish
    Aug 18 2024

Welcome to Debut with Angela Musings (previous co-host of The Unpolished)

Debut is a show centered around interviewing brand owners, founders, niche hobbyists alike to gab about how they ended up at where they are today. Heavy emphasis on the prequel, I'm most interested in the heart and people behind a brand, less business tips and more storytelling forward.

Fear not fish haters, this is still the episode for you.

I got the honor of interviewing the VP of Marketing at Honey Smoked Fish, Liz Spencer, by quite literally asking in the Contact Us form of their official website. I am transfixed on their entire product line, but particularly, the Honey Smoked Fish salmon stackers (found at Target, Costco, participating Krogers and more!)

She walks through how she got affiliated with Honey Smoked Fish and the way she ended up in Colorado. From the wrong college, to the wrong marriage, to learning and growing, Liz graciously and authentically bares her soul. I am so lucky to have gotten to talk to her for the hour I did, especially speaking about early motherhood and breastfeeding in a way that is rare and important.

We also do talk salmon. Get fishy with us, please!
