Dancing Across the Invisible Line is a collection of stories of women in and out of ISKCON (the Hare Krishnas.) This time we hear from Kosjenka and Srebrenka, former godsisters of Anke's from Croatia.

In our fourth episode, we interview Saraswati. Saraswati was born in to ISKCON in 1978 and is now one of the most vocal and effective Child Protection activist in the movement. She tells us about the ongoing problems with child abuse in ISKCON, as well as the obstacles she and the CPO (Child Protection Office) have been facing.

In the third episode, we interview the third founder of the podcast. Anke joined ISKCON Germany straight out of East Germany in 1989, was one of the four women who started the Cologne temple, was involved in book production in Sweden and left when she had a baby.

She talks to us about her experiences as a girl and young woman, and her life since.

Cult podcasts are quite popular, but none currently exist about ISKCON or the Hare Krishnas. ISKCON has grown so large that it's on the brink of evolving into a religion. It operates state schools in the UK, partakes in mining, oil, and gas sectors, and engages in academia and politics in India and other parts of the world. There is a resurgent academic interest in interpreting the contentious quotes in which the founder of ISKCON discusses women, specifically violence against women, appearing to condone it. The aim of this podcast is to add the perspectives of women who have experienced life in ISKCON across various locations and time periods to the conversation.
