Cignix is India’s neural circuit-based smoking, tobacco, and nicotine cessation platform built on the understanding that smoking is a learned behavior that can be systematically unlearned, and that the method has to reach the circuit where the addiction actually lives.

What Cignix is built on

Most cessation tools address the pharmacological layer of addiction- the physical withdrawal. NRT, varenicline, and willpower-based approaches all work above the behavioral circuit. But it is the cue-triggered, automatic pathway of behavioral circuits that outlasts physical withdrawal and drives the majority of long-term relapses.

Cignix is built on the neural circuit framework: the understanding that smoking is not a character flaw or a failure of willpower, but a learned behavioral sequence encoded through dopamine-enhanced repetition across hundreds of specific cues. It is dismantled through extinction, the same mechanism that built it, running in reverse.

What Cignix does

The Cignix Protocol meets the smoker at the three levels where cessation succeeds or fails: the cue level, the craving level, and the relapse level.

At the cue level- mapping which specific triggers carry the most charge in each individual’s smoking pattern. At the craving level- providing real-time behavioral intervention during the three-minute window when the circuit is firing and the decision is being made. At the relapse level- treating a lapse as clinical information rather than moral failure, identifying what circuit survived, and adjusting the protocol accordingly.

Who Cignix is for

Every Indian nicotine user- cigarette smokers, vapers, bidi smokers, gutka and khaini users whose cessation has been underserved by tools built for Western markets, calibrated for cigarette smokers, and unavailable at the price points and access conditions of most Indian smokers.

Cignix is free to access. It is built in India, for India, toward a specific goal: one million smokers helped to quit by 2030 as the first milestone toward a Nicotine-Free India.

The entry point

The Smoking Immunity Meter at learn.cignix.com/user/sim – a structured assessment that maps where your specific circuits are strongest before the protocol begins. It is the difference between a generic cessation program and one built around your specific cues, your specific pattern, and your specific path through the three-minute window.

The one thing to hold onto

Cignix is not another quit smoking app.

It is the method that addresses what other methods leave intact: the circuit. In the moment that determines everything: the three minutes when the craving fires and the decision is made.

  • CRAVING TO SMOKE, TOBACCO AND NICOTINE- HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
    Sep 10 2026

The answer: 3 to 5 minutes.

That is the clinical reality. A craving is not a permanent state. It is a neural event with a burst of activity in the circuits that learned to associate a cue (stress, a meal, a certain time of day) with smoking. That burst peaks, and then it subsides. Every time. The craving you are feeling right now has a biological ceiling of 3 to 5 minutes.

    Why it feels longer

The circuit doesn’t just fire; it recruits. It pulls attention toward itself. It narrows your perception of time. Three minutes of focused craving feels like fifteen because the same neural system that generates the craving also controls your sense of urgency. This is not weakness. This is the architecture of a learned behavior doing exactly what it was designed to do. You are not losing to something stronger than you. You are waiting out a timer.

What to do in the next three minutes

The circuit needs two things to sustain itself: attention and the expectation of reward. Withdraw both.

    a. Name it. Say, out loud or to yourself: “This is a craving. It will peak in under two minutes and then reduce.” Naming the event activates the prefrontal cortex, which is the part of your brain that can observe the craving without being consumed by it. This is not a trick. It is a measurable neurological shift.

    b. Change the sensory input. Drink a glass of cold water. Step outside. Change rooms. The craving circuit is cue-triggered, breaking the sensory context weakens the signal. You are not distracting yourself. You are denying the circuit the environmental fuel it needs.

    c. Time it. Set a three-minute timer and watch it count down. This converts a sensation that feels permanent into a measurable, finite event. When the timer ends, the craving will have already begun to subside.

    The deeper fact

Cravings do not accumulate strength when you don’t respond to them. They lose it.

Each craving you outlast without smoking slightly weakens the circuit that produced it. The circuit was built through repetition. Smoking after the cue, again and again, until the association became automatic. It is disassembled the same way. Cue, no smoke, no reward- repeated until the association loses its charge.

You are not just surviving this craving. You are right now, in these three minutes, doing the actual neurological work of quitting.

The one thing to hold onto

Every craving that has ever existed in a person who quit smoking eventually stopped coming.

    This one will too.
