  • Tomie (1998) : A look at the Manga based J-Horror
    Dec 7 2025

Tomie was released in 1998 ,although based on a popular manga and spawning 8 sequels it doesn't seem to be that well known outside of Japan. When Adam Whybray of The Still Scared Podcast suggested we take a look at it, I thought it was perfect for the show.

We both watched the film for the first time. This episode is our thought and reactions.........

In 1999 Jean-Claude Van Damme returned to the sci fi action franchise Universal Soldier, he hope to save this series of movies and his career, he failed and the film is almost forgotten.

He tried again in 2009, with the help of other original star Dolph Lundgren, with slightly more success.

I'd never seen either of these movies, nor had my guest mega JCVD fan Benji Copeman. we watched both and here are our thoughts

    Nov 17 2025

In this special episode Gem & Vic from the true crime podcast The Criminal Craic join me to discuss the 1986 cult classic Henry : Portrait of a Serial Killer. This being a movie that claims to be based on actual events but many would say it's more of a horror movie than drama of biopic.

None of us had seen it, what would we think??

    * The movie focuses on some pretty grim subjects which we don't shy aware from, please be warned.

  • Elm Street and Beyond - Freddy vs Jason (2003)
    Oct 20 2025

After years of rumours and waiting the slasher icons finally got to go head to head bringing the worlds of a Nightmare on elm street and Friday the 13th together.

Freddy vs Jason went on to become a huge hit but didn't go down amazingly at the time with all fans of either franchise.

This has so far been the only time the two maniacs have shared the big screen and the last time Robert England has played Kreuger.

Friend of the podcast Ian Pointer joins me to look back on Freddy vs Jason. Welcome to Beyond Graves and Star and we once again venture Elm Street and Beyond.

Released in 1994, the movie opened to modest reviews and didn't take the box office by storm but has gone on to be considered ahead of it's time and is now a cult classic.

Join me and James Rowe, my co-host on The King Street Cinema podcast to look back 30 years on.

  • Elm Street and Beyond - Freddy's Dead : The Final Nightmare (1991)
    Oct 6 2025

In this mini series, I'm looking back at each of the A Nightmare on Elm Street movies.

Victoria Bennett from The Criminal Craic true crime podcast joins me to chat about the 6th entry in the franchise. Freddy's back....again for his first outing post 1980's and it was supposed to be his last. The movie was panned by critics but was such a hit that it was not the last time we saw the wisecracking maniac.

Does the movie live up 3 decades later and should it have been his last film?
