  • Lawmakers Push Ban on Cancer-Linked Hair Chemicals

    Three House Democrats have introduced the Healthy Hair Act, legislation that would ban formaldehyde in hair straightening and smoothing products nationwide. Supporters say chemical hair products have been linked to higher risks of uterine cancer and other health harms, with Black women disproportionately impacted. The FDA proposed a similar ban in 2023, but it has yet to finalize the rule.   • Justice Department Expands Voter Roll Lawsuits

    The Justice Department has filed five new lawsuits against Utah, Oklahoma, Kentucky, West Virginia and New Jersey as part of its effort to obtain unredacted voter registration lists.
