    Este episódio é a primeira de duas partes de uma conversa que tive com Marie, da conta @asecretlifeofpain. Falámos sobre a importância do papel do "patient advocate" - de adquirir informação, de se atualizar constantemente, entre outros. Falámos sobre como ter doenças vulvares afeta as nossas vidas e nos leva a ter uma dupla vida/vida secreta. Acompanhem esta conversa e digam o que acharam!


    A Marie é uma doente crónica e uma patient advocate que luta pela equidade nos tratamentos para as pessoas que sofrem de doenças crónicas ou deficiências invisíveis, especialmente em doenças pouco conhecidas como a vulvodínia, nevralgia do nervo pudendo, endometriose, Síndrome de Ehlers-Danlos, enxaquecas e Síndrome de taquicardia postural ortostática (em inglês, POTS). Ela é crítica da visão psicogénica de doenças que afetam mais as mulheres e pessoas assinaladas feminino à nascença. Marie apela a mais pesquisa biomédica, melhores ferramentas de diagnóstico e tratamentos.


    ENG: Marie is a chronic illness patient and advocate fighting for equitable care for people with chronic pain and invisible disabilities, particularly those living with understudied conditions such as vulvodynia, pudendal neuralgia, endometriosis, hEDS, migraine, and POTS. She speaks out against the psychogenic framing of stigmatized health issues that primarily affect women and people AFAB, and calls for better biomedical research, diagnostic tools, and treatments.
