  • Nahanni McKay // Beer, Mountains, Wolves
    Mar 31 2022

Nahanni is a photographer living in the area now known as Banff, and she is truly a gem. The storytelling in her photography is what many people only dream of, and on film instead of digital which in my opinion makes it all the cooler. She’s a coalition snow ambassador, a skier, an artist, a beer connoisseur, an activist, among many many other things.

The Go Fund Me to send Nahanni to the Biennale - please share this and consider donating to help her. She is truly deserving of this opportunity

The Backcountry Beta referenced in the show, this is an hour long group interview style conversation among the scholarship selection committee and the recipients of the Indigenous Backcountry Scholarship from Coalition Snow.

Nahanni mentions Inclu-SKI-vity at one point and I just want to plug her insta here, she's so rad.

If you want to donate something to the raffle for Nahanni you can send me a message on our instagram or you can email me at Penelope.cavender@gmail.com

  • Micheli Oliver // Decolonization and Why Words Matter
    Mar 16 2022

Micheli is such a gem of a human. When I prepared to talk to her I had in mind questions about skiing and photography and a little bit about somethings I had heard from her in past talks. But instead I was left with so very much to think about and left speechless over and over. Learn about the importance of peak names, how to practice decolonization in your own life, and a lot more.

  • Jaida Elcock // A Sharks Best Friend
    Mar 9 2022

Jaida Elcock is a shark scientist who makes sharks so approachable. Well, you shouldn't approach them, but after this conversation you will be far less afraid of them. She's hilarious her passion for these amazing creatures is so evident and fun to listen to.  If you enjoy a bad movie, you'll want to stick around until the end for some quality recommendations.
