Luke 2:52. In order for something to grow, it requires care and nurturing in the ways it needs. This scripture tells me that even Jesus needed care in order to increase and grow. And He grew in several areas or elements of His creation. In this episode, we break down self-care into workable areas so you can create your own daily self-care regimen. If your desire is to grow, progress and increase, then a self-care strategy is not only appropriate but needful.

D&C 123: 16-17. What does “by being kept workways” teach us about self-care in the Lord’s way? Another wonderful scriptural phrase we can look at to help us understand the divine importance of self-care.

Ether 2: 16-17, 6: 3-12. How does self-care in the Lord’s way relate to the phrase “tight like unto a dish”? What can we learn about taking care of ourselves from this analogy?

Moroni 10:6-8, 32-33. We can connect the commandment of loving our neighbor as ourselves to the truthful principles of “knowing thyself” and “to thine own self be true.” Why is it not only appropriate but needful to honor these principles of truth if we want to live in joy, peace and freedom?

Matthew 22:36-39. We know the great commandments, however do we know how to live them in wisdom…in the Lord’s way. I offer my experience, belief and insight into what the great commandments actually mean and how to live them in wisdom and truth which yields freedom and joy.

2 Timothy 1:7. We talk about tools to increase our awareness of what’s happening in our minds and hearts. The more mind-knowing and heart-knowing we possess, the more power we possess. And that power enables us to make choices from a place of love and a sound mind which is our divine self.

Hebrews 10:31-32, 35-36. More on the power of fear to control. We can choose to turn to God in that fear instead of to our distraction strategies, trusting that He won’t let us fall and will give us something better.

Mosiah 24:12-16. Even in our scariest, darkest, most painful storms and bondage, if we will look up to the Lord, He can give us His strength and power to “bear up our burdens with ease.”
