 "I was nine years old and I sat in this rocking chair at this adoption agency and a social worker handed him to me and I immediately thought, Oh, this is the best. I want to do this again when I grow up. I think for a long time after that, I just assumed I would get married and have kids.
Cause why, isn't that what people did? You just, that's what you did. You know, so it never occurred to me that that wasn't going to be something that happened, maybe. Cause I didn't know a lot of single people. I mean, now I think it's a lot more prevalent, but, I mean, everybody I knew, like, they were mommies and they were daddies and they got married and had kids, and that was the normal thing."
