The Emperor is enraged. Primarch Magnus the Red of the Thousand Sons Legion has made a terrible mistake that endangers the very safety of Terra. With no other choice, the Emperor charges Leman Russ, Primarch of the Space Wolves, with the apprehension of his brother from the Thousand Sons home world of Prospero.

This planet of sorcerers will not be easy to overcome, but Russ and his Space Wolves are not easily deterred. With wrath in his heart, Russ is determined to bring Magnus to justice and bring about the fall of Prospero.

A bit confusing and the title should have been a different one but I really like the book. It brings the Wolves in another perspective and I like the „tales“ style and how the VI. Legion works
Really good narrator as well

Misleading title but it’s one of my favorites

Eine Geschichte die sich mit der menschlichen Seite des Konflikts zwischen Astartes befasst, sehr empfehlenswert. Erfrischend anders.

Der tiefgründige Konflikt zwischen den Space Wolves und den Thousand Sons

The story starts with a mix of perspectives and timelines and takes some time for the Space Wolves and all their peculiarities. But after that it accelerates into a gripping story of intrigue, suspense and twists with several memorable scenes.

Long windup to a great finale

I never had much love for the Space Wolves. This is the first story that makes me understand and appreciate the Fenrisians and their ways. The book is fantastic not just as a WH40K novel, but as a novel in general. A must read. Also, perfectly delivered, props to the speaker.

An awesome book

Well deserved bestseller, no questions asked.

The narrator is a bit to quick for my taste and the book is not really necessary, if you just want the hard facts and get to the point of the Siege of Terra or another point in the timeline.

But if you want a great read with lots of lore for the Space Wolves, secrets, treachery and some marvellous insides into why which Primarch picked what side you should get it. It is worth it!

(No spoilers) Amazingly written, but not necessary for the story arch
