Every unexplained mystery has a history. Some are preserved in official records. Others survive through eyewitness testimony, local folklore, newspaper archives, and stories passed from one generation to the next. Together, they form the record.

Night Watch Archives exists to preserve that record.

Each Case File examines one of America's enduring mysteries through documented history, available evidence, regional folklore, and firsthand accounts whenever possible. Our purpose is not to persuade you what to believe. It is to present the information honestly, distinguish historical fact from tradition, and allow you to reach your own conclusions.

This opening file introduces the philosophy behind the Archive and the approach that will guide every investigation that follows.

Soon, the shelves of the Archive will begin to fill with documented cases exploring haunted locations, cryptids, unexplained disappearances, strange encounters, forgotten legends, and the mysteries that continue to challenge history.
