Nichiren Buddhism is a relatively new sect of Buddhism established by the high priest, Nichiren in 13th century Japan.
This book follows the history of Nichiren Buddhism.
It picks up from the Buddha's last teaching, the Lotus Sutra, which Nichiren encapsulated in the mantra, Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.
Its practice allows all people to improve their lives.
After Nichiren's death, successive high priests preserved his teachings.
In 1930, a lay organization was formed to spread Nichiren's teachings which has become a global peace organization, the Soka Gakkai.
I tell the history of the Soka Gakkai, outlining its first three presidents.
I present Buddhist philosophy throughout.
My intention is to convey the importance of this teaching.
