A gifted girl loses her parents in close succession and fights with God in between visits from the Devil. As a woman, she leaves home and discovers Vaudeville in Paris, and "la passion de la vanite". During that time, the myth of angels, in particular, a War Angel, among the populace was substantial, leading to questions: Who is the War Angel? And could the War Angel save the immortals from extinction?
