The story has a strong foundation: Belina’s religious trauma and virginity struggle, shaped by an extremist father, added emotional depth. I appreciated the critical voice on indoctrination and the fear-based “comply or die” mentality. It gave the book a thoughtful edge.
Rafe was a really engaging MC, and I wish we’d had more chapters from his POV. Belina’s voice dominated, which was a shame — especially because Will M. Watt is phenomenal. His performance was full of nuance, warmth, and emotion, and he brought Rafe to life in such an honest way. He’s easily one of my favorite male narrators. Kylie Stewart also did a great job as Belina — expressive and confident — but I would’ve loved to hear them in duet style for better chemistry and pacing.
The spice is intense — but for me, it was over-narrated. Not the scenes themselves, but the constant internal commentary made it feel too staged or clinical, which diluted the emotional impact.
Still, Unfurl is a bold, spicy listen with some meaningful themes. I didn’t connect with it as deeply as Undulate, but it was definitely entertaining.

3. The series was recommended by one of the influencers on Instagram. I was a bit skeptical, but I really enjoyed the first audiobook. I'm going to listen to the second one now! :)
