Unbelievable story with unsympathetic people

This story is not only ridiculous, but the characters are unlikable. They act okay, but I couldn't identify with them. Especially the main female character is so loathable (to me), that I disliked her monologs more and more throughout the whole book. There are some twists and turns where you hope the story could develop a bit, but it all comes back to this outrageously stupid explanation which you get hinted from the beginning and could guess all the way along. The solution is so artificially constructed - unbelievable... I am really dissappointed since I used to like Lisa Gardners books.
