Das Buch und die Geschichte haben mir sehr gut gefallen. die Autorin beschreibt sehr persönlich und authentisch wie die Beziehung zu ihrer Mutter mit, wahrscheinlich, dem Boarderline Syndrom ihre Kindheit wie auch ihr Erwachsenenleben geprägt und beeinflusst hat, mit teilweise haarsträubenden Situationen, die hier beschrieben werden.
Die Autorin liest selbst und ist eine sehr gute Sprecherin. Immer wieder gibt es auch Einspieler ihrer eigenen Musik, was das ganze sehr persönlich macht.
Trotzdem würde ich das Thema und die Geschichte als ziemlich " Niche" bezeichnen. Das Buch ist dadurch nicht unbedingt ein " must read" für alle, daher als Gesamtbewertung hier nur 4 Sterne.

I've listened to this book two times in four days because I could not let go of the author's voice and story, to which I unfortunately could relate so much. Some passages about the nature of a mother's love and Orinda's own reflections on her psyche stuck with me - such difficult things phrased with so much clarity and grace. The story feels surreal and the authors somewhat monotone narration creates a picture of a dissociated victim relating their plight. At the same time, going over it all with her feels intimate and pulls you in. I like this book very much and I commend Orinda for her bravery in writing it down.
