Elizabeth is attending a foreign university when she is kidnapped and brutally beaten into submission. Over the course of months, she is punished cruelly for disobedience and rewarded with luxurious gifts when she is compliant. Spoiled by opulence, she lives in fear, wondering about her captor’s motives. His only requirements for her are that she improve herself and that she remain the perfect dining companion. She is forced to accept and eat the most exotic foods in the world.
Can she trade luxury and excitement for poverty and mundanity? Has she been groomed to be another person entirely? How much does freedom mean to Elizabeth? What hellish secrets does her captor keep hidden? What is the end game, and what happened to the young women who failed his games?
Elizabeth finds that the games go deeper than she imagined, and she knows that if she fails, she may end up the victim of a sex-trafficking ring that wants her. Psychological horror meets high cuisine. Bon appetit!
