In 406 BC, to seal a tenuous truce, the young Roman Caecilia is wedded to Vel Mastarna, an Etruscan nobleman from Veii. Die sonst von mir sehr geschätzte Christine Traister liest das Buch so gekünstelt, dass es kaum auszuhalten ist, was allerdings auch dem allzu bornierten und unreifen Charakter der Hauptfigur zu entsprechen scheint. Es war mir leider unmöglich, es mit dieser "Heldin" und ihrem unerklärlichen Chauvinismus länger auszuhalten und hätte ich nicht gerade erst ein Buch zurück gegeben hätte ich es mit diesem jedenfalls gemacht. 2 Sterne für die historische Komponente, Interessantes über das frühe Rom aber vor allem über die Etrusker
