Kaal and Ziya only taste peace for a matter of months before it gets disrupted again.
Practically as soon as they're ready to take up their new responsibilities with the dragon council, they're met with a new problem. Sea monsters from the north are invading the waters to the south, spelling trouble for everyone. Ziya is sent north to help solve the problem, while Kaal remains behind to play liaison between the humans and dragons of different clans.
Once Ziya reaches the north, she can't help but fall in love with the people there. They work in harmony with dragons to keep the sea monsters in check...most of the time. But some human-made dragons from the south escaped the devastation of the war and nested in their mountains, pulling attention away from the sea and giving the monsters in the depths a chance to spread.
The problem stretches across clans and across the continent. Can Ziya stop another war from breaking out? More importantly, can she keep Kaal from being drawn into danger, too?
