Great book horrible narrator

The narrator Rick Vaugh has a weird way of reading this book. He uses repetitive intonation (melody of speech) which makes it difficult to listen and not get distracted or fall asleep. His intonation also causes him to emphasize the wrong words. I tried really hard but after listening 45 minutes and not really getting a lot, I just returned the audio book. It's not fun to listen. I might buy the regular book though.
