I just loved listening to Gordon Kerr's debut novel which hooked me from its start. It’s beautifully written with great characterisations, and exquisite descriptions of the Valtellina region in Northern Italy.

The two timelines between the end of WW II and 1999 are easily followed (in audio books sometimes a bit difficult) and it took me quite a while to realize how they are connected. As much as one of the two protagonists, I wanted answers to the very – twisted – end…

And last but not least, the story was – once again! – expertly narrated by Saul Reichlin, immensely contributing to this ‘hearing experience’.
