Kate Copeland, widow, mother of two, is barely keeping it together—coffee-stained sweatpants, Goldfish crackers for dinner, and a check engine light she's been ignoring for six months. The one bright spot in her life is a tight-knit group of widows who regularly get together to share camaraderie, shoulders to cry on, and plenty of coffee and white wine.
Things are going fine—well, as fine as things can go for people with a gaping hole in their lives—until one of the widows begins to suspect her husband isn’t actually dead. The women suddenly find themselves thrust into a "reverse murder mystery." Is he alive or not?!
Chasing clues, they leave the cul-de-sacs of suburbia for swanky bars, exclusive private clubs, and mansions they could never afford even if they pooled their money. But the deeper Kate digs, the more a new question haunts her: could her own husband still be alive?
Desperate for answers, the women navigate charming private investigators, dangerously good-looking bachelors, and actual criminals, all while doing their best not to get themselves killed.
