der Sprecher keine Rollen spricht. Er liest einigermaßen lebendig vor, aber immer gleich. Es ist fast unmöglich für mich, so zu wissen, wer spricht. Man müsste sich die vielen Namen aufschreiben und Notizen dazu machen, und das habe ich nicht gemacht - einfach durchgehört und am Ende war irgendjemand schuldig. Die Geschichte ist bestimmt sehr gut und treu im Stil von Anne Cleeves.

As usual with Ann Cleeves it’s a well written crime mystery with a good plot. And I like the new team. It’s not a stereotypical detective duo, but something fresh and interesting dynamics and it speaks to Ann Cleeves writing that all of her series have very different detectives. I am looking forward to getting to know the characters better in the next books. Very surprised to read that some people thought the book confusing or involving too many characters. It’s really not in any way more challenging than any other book meant for adults and not little children and you wouldn’t want little children to listen to this due to the themes of murder and other horrible crimes (I am vague to avoid spoilers). The speaker is decent, though not outstanding. I think they hired the actor of the tv series (I haven’t seen it) and he does a decent job, but it’s not quite on the level of truly outstanding audio book speakers,

Great start for a new series

Ich habe mich leider über die gesamte Dauer des Hörbuches nicht richtig in die Geschichte einfühlen können. Für meinen Geschmack waren es zu viele Charaktere. Obwohl der Sprecher eine angenehme Stimme hat, fiel es mir schwer die Charaktere, die er sprach, zu unterscheiden, wodurch ich immer wieder den Faden verloren habe.
Der Plot an sich hat mich auch nicht überzeugt.

Tolle Geschichte, ungemein einschläfernd gelesen. Mit der düsteren, depressiven immer gleichen Stimmlage kam ich nicht zurecht. Abgebrochen. Schade um das tolle Buch!
