The protagonist complains the whole time, but nearly all her problems are self made, most of them would vanish into smoke if she would adjust her attitude a little and the rest wouldn't ever become a problem if she would just open her mouth and say what she's thinking instead of playing mind games with every person she talks to.
Also, the protagonist can use magic, talk to ghosts and even raise the dead to some extent, but when her mentor talks about magic stuff the protagonist doesn't understand then suddenly things are "impossible" or "just some hocus pocus".....really?!
