Only someone with a death wish would betray a witch for riches.
When Mabel’s lover turns her over to the King, she’s thrown in jail for being a witch. Fully expecting her love to come save her, she languishes for months in prison. After all, if he sold her out for riches and came back to rescue her, that would be rather amusing. But actual betrayal, there’s no amusement in that.
When a snake visits her, she refuses to believe his words—he says her lover isn’t coming back.
But as time passes, Mabel begins to wonder if the snake is right. The snake reveals his name is Trarzid. He came for her in search of her dark powers. Mabel doesn’t know it, but he’s a demon with big plans for her: plans to turn her rage and pain into the ultimate dark magic weapon. A weapon with the power to level the kingdom. After all, when evil joins evil, so-called good men fall. It’s time for the kingdom to pay for their crimes against magic wielders.
Hell hath no fury like a witch scorned—a lesson one greedy man will soon learn.
