The book covers story structure for a TV pilot and spec script, logline formulas for Logline For Your Life and your story, and character. With character, the book goes into the wound and the flaw. I cover everything that I teach in Writers on the Verge at NBC. There are breakdowns for several shows, including—THE GOOD WIFE, MODERN FAMILY, THE NIGHT MANAGER, HOMELAND, FLEABAG, and DEAD TO ME. The book also explores staffing and development. You will find formulas for a pitch document and a TV bible formula.

Aaron Spelling was my mentor for 12 years. While I worked with him, I learned the art of doing show breakdowns. As a former 12-year studio executive, I covered shows including—NUMBERS, MEDIUM, NCIS, THE 4400, GIRLFRIENDS, BEVERLY HILLS, 90210, MELROSE PLACE, and CHARMED.
