This is one of the clearest and most practical books on storytelling I’ve listened to in a long time.

Brandon McNulty explains story structure in a way that feels approachable, not academic or overwhelming. What I especially appreciate is his focus on clarity and intention: understanding what your story is really about, what your protagonist wants, and how every part of the narrative serves that core.

The book is very well structured, easy to follow, and full of concrete examples. Even if you’re already familiar with common story models, this audiobook helps you see them in a more focused and usable way. It’s less about rigid formulas and more about making deliberate choices as a writer.

A major highlight is that the author narrates the audiobook himself — and he does it exceptionally well. His calm, clear, and engaging delivery perfectly supports the material and makes the listening experience both pleasant and effective.

Clear, Practical, and Excellent as an Audiobook
