This spicy contemporary romance with some hot scenes in various locations features an American scientist and a Scottish witch. There are so many things I loved about this book. The outdoors spicy scenes, the nerdy-sweet, yet sexy man who only believes in science and the witty, kind and empathic Scottish witch with psychic powers. And don't get me started on her huge family! The banter between all characters made me laugh out loud often, and the growing tenderness the men of the clan feel for their sister's/ cousin's lover is so sweet and endearing. By and of itself, this story is already great. But it goes deeper. it explores the history of witchcraft and witch trials in the Scottish Highlands. This has been deeply moving fir me as a practicing witch who recently researched the history if witch trials in my own area of residence. Tears flowed then and now, listening to this story, and it touched me on a so deeply personal and karmic ancestry level as well. The witch's wound is very real. The sensitivity with which the author dealt with the subjects of Wicca and the history of witchcraft was sensitive and empowering. This book is definitely going into my all-time favourite folder and I'll be listening to more stories from this author. Witch or without witches, the McTaggart clan is definitely worth it!
