Über diesen Titel

The first audiobook in the beloved New York Times best-selling series - now with a new foreword by New York Times best-selling author Rebecca Serle

Jessica Darling is devastated when her best friend moves away from Pineville, New Jersey. With Hope gone, Jessica has no one she can really talk to. She doesn’t relate to the boy-and-shopping-obsessed girls at school, or her dad’s obsession with track meets, and her mom is too busy planning big sister Bethany’s lavish wedding. Jessica is lost more than ever, and her nonexistent love life is only making things worse.

Fresh, funny, and utterly compelling, audiences fell in love with Jessica Darling’s poignant, hilarious voice and have stayed with her through her ups and downs (and her mixed-up feelings about her first love, Marcus Flutie). A modern classic, listeners will be excited to return to Pineville, New Jersey, and Jessica Darling’s world with Sloppy Firsts. Now with a foreword from New York Times best-selling author Rebecca Serle and a new author's note from Megan McCafferty!

I read all five books growing up and was excited when I saw the audio book! The story is just great. Jessica Darling is a funny, sarcastic and smart teenager, who takes us on her journey through her freshman year of high school. In the form of diary entries, she gives us a subjective look at the everyday problems of adolescents. Megan McCafferty perfectly succeeds in portraying the convoluted, mostly dramatized, and delightfully honest experiences of an adolescent girl. I loved the books as a teenager and can still enjoy reading them as an adult. The book made me laugh, think and cry. Only the production of the audiobook could be improved. Although the narrator puts a lot of effort into giving her voice variation, she sometimes sounds a bit monotonous. It could also have been worked with different voices/narrators for the different charakters. Nevertheless, the audio book is a pleasure and a clear listening recommendation!

Great story, narrator could improve
