My name is Louise, and I’m a serial-monogamist marine biologist.

Try saying that five times fast.

Fresh out of an awful relationship and tired of always doing the right thing, this girl is finally saying “screw it” and having herself a meaningless fling.

Here’s the thing about flings though: They only work if you keep feelings out of the equation.

Well, that won’t be a problem for a sensible scientist like me...that is, until a one-night stand with a hot single dad rocks my world and blows my plans completely out of the water.

If I’ve learned anything from the ocean world, it’s that those with the hardest shells have the most to fear. And something tells me this guy is going to crack mine wide the hell open.

I don't really understand the bad review...like Erin said herself, the book is a bit different to the other two of the series, but good in it's own way.
I love the carracters in her books, because they always make me laugh out loud and it was nice to meet them all again. Looking forward to her next series!

As Erin said, a bit different to the others...

I had to stop this around 2 hours before the end! A lying, established borders ignoring guy tricks a 9+ years younger girl into trusting him. He is a former alcoholic turned saint. When she finds out that he has intentionally pursued her despite ignoring her rules, she has to reconcile her position. Conclusion: Young women have to be lied to to figure out their shit! This is not a romance, this is an exercise in narcisitic gaslighting! This could have been handled so well, her overcoming her position. He working how to integrate their patchwork lives.

The fact that even their friends rooted for them, set up a scenario for him to come clean. He lies by omission (again, after there where many great opportunities) sleeps with her and tells her after they had a relationship when she sends him packing just makes me sad for the author. Either the type of men she encountered or her idea what a position is you can come back from.

I hope the FMC gets her Happily ever after without him and the MMC gets to contemplate what the difference between saying you stand by your choices is and actually doing it.

I feel betrayed by picking up this book, as the first and second installment of the series had the characters actually grow up.

The re son for the 2 Stars is that I was actually invested in the FMC, Wally, Ralph, Maybel and the friendsgroup around.

Are your alpha- & betareaders in a dependent relationship with the author. No one had a problem with this?
