From Just Between Us podcast host, mental health advocate, and trusted relationship expert Allison Raskin comes a charming new rom com—loosely based on her own life experience!

"Whip-smart, subversive, and infinitely charming. An ode to the beautifully messy work of falling in love on purpose." —Becky Albertalli, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda

You are cordially invited to the wedding of Emma Moskowitz and
someone

When couples therapist Emma Moskowitz is unceremoniously dumped by her fiancé six months before their wedding, her world comes crashing down: her thriving private practice, her status as a popular online creator, even her book deal all hinge on the fact that Emma is an expert when it comes to romantic relationships. Not to mention her heart is ripped in half.

It isn't fair. She worked so hard to be ready for marriage. If only Emma could find a different groom by her planned wedding day, nothing would have to change....

So commences Operation: Save My Date.

As Emma publicly shares her untraditional journey to the altar online, things get complicated quickly. She finds herself caught between Will, a charismatic podcast producer who is not interested in being a replacement groom; and Matt, a sweet, recent divorcee eagerly looking to settle down.

As the wedding day approaches, Emma must decide what future she truly wants for herself. After all, her family, her book editor, and a large portion of the internet are watching...

I didn’t plan on reading this book mainly because I didn’t really like the cover art that much and I figured since I’ve been following Allison for a long time that I would already know what would happen in the story. But then my ex fiancé left me abruptly and I figured I needed to read this book even if it was just to feel a bit less alone in my grief. And oh boy did it help. All the parts about the broken engagement were so deeply relatable. Also I really enjoyed the humor and the pacing of this book. The only criticism I have is the romantic showdown in the end, I feel like I’ve seen that before, but all in all it was a great read and especially the scenes with the best friend and the sister made me giggle so hard.

Relatable and funny

The premise is daring. This could have gone array so many times, but Allison Raskin navigated it perfectly. It is psychologially smart romcom. While clearly rejecting the often overhyped ideal of soulmates, it also acknowledges that love is about more than shared values and goals. The book also showcases how much reflection is necessary to navigate relationship issues in a healthy way and how helpful counseling can be even if there isn't huge crisis. The nice thing about it: It is all wraped up in a funny and relatable story.

A big swing - that hits its mark!
