Inhaltsangabe
With our family's legacy, Meyers B&B, in the flailing hands of me, Sam Meyers, and my sister, Wynne, we're determined to revive the place. We've started a series of blind-date cooking classes and taken on our first boarder. Granddad is even now rolling in his grave.
Signed up for the class is our new guest, Aaron Saunders, a Californian transplant who's distractingly handsome and clearly up to no good. I can't quite figure him out. He blew into town and has been relentless in his search for...something.
The sexy sneak is intriguing. And we've had a steamy moment. Or two. But now I can't stop wondering why he's searching in secret. From the library to my own backyard, Aaron leaves no stone unturned or record book unopened. He's definitely gotten my attention. But that might not be the only thing he's after.

A witty and enjoyable return to Smithfield
Sam and his sister Wynne try hard to keep their grandfather`s legac, the Meyers B&B, afloat. While Wynne starts Smithfield`s first (and only) blind-date-cooking-nights, Sam is more intrigued about their new guest Aaron and why he is out like a ninja in burglar gear picking locks in town and asking too many questions. Sam is pretty sure the B&B silver is still safe but why is Aaron digging up the past again?
I love that so many characters from the previous books of this series make an appearances or are mentioned. That made me feel like coming „home“ to L.B.Gregg`s imaginary sleepy little New England village again. This time family secrets replace the crime-suspense themes from before. I must admit, all those unveiling tangled old relatives`relations were not my cup of tea. I also got over the immediate instant attraction between the two MC s and their hot encounters at rather odd places, and found myself still enjoying the story. This is no doubt, L.B.Gregg`s writing gift of creating such vibrant, interesting characters, you really care for. Like for Cole, Adam´s younger brother, who isn´t a total lost case after all and deserves some happiness. He and friendly, resourceful Claire Cook are another sweet couple. All those funny scenes paired with quick-witted dialoges keep this light novella flowing and fun to read/ listen to. I secretly hope there are still more Smithfield men not paired up for another return.
I had been missing the deep growl of trooper Tony a tiny bit, but otherwise Anthony Elmer with his fresh youthful voice is the perfect fit for those young folks Sam,Aaron,Wynne, Claire, Cole and the chemistry and dynamices between them. His interpretation of those date night cooking classes are simply hilariouse and make me laugh out loud every time I listen to those scenes. While I found Sam and Aaron`s encounters at the library book drop or the church more embarrassing then funny.
