Why only three stars for the story?
In book one I criticised the relationship between Winnie and Danny which I found somewhat annoying, but something I could overlook as Winnies rebellion against political suppression was really interesting.
Now in book two there was defiantly too much romance/drama between Winnie and Danny for my taste.
Although this was somewhat caused by some kind of mind magic and magic addiction by Winnie, some chapters made me cringe while listening through. Maybe this was just a good way of story telling by Jamie Davis, but the way Winnie dismissed rational thinking when it comes to Danny is a bit too much for me.
I would have preferred a faster story development, as this book sounds like a build-up for the third book.
If romance and drama is your thing, this book will be as good as the first one.
