Mir wurde in diesem Buch zuviel gejammert. Sicher waren dies alles tragische Umstände, aber der Umgang mit diesen Umständen gefiel mir gar nicht. Die Leute im Buch waren mir auch nicht besonders sympathisch. Der Beziehungsaufbau in Neuseeland ging mir viel zu schnell. Das wirkte auf mich nicht echt. Und Beziehungen zwischen Leuten, die einem irgendwie nicht recht gefallen oder nah werden, naja, die sind dann bekanntermaßen auch nicht sonderlich interessant. Selbst die Tatsache, dass die Handlung meist in Neuseeland spielte, konnte das für mich nicht retten. Schade um die Story, denn der Rahmen war zwar nicht total ungewöhnlich, aber erschien mir eigentlich angenehm.
