About midway through the 21st century, the tilt of the earth's axis started to shift drastically and the seasons began to change. Growing up long after, orphaned sisters Annie and Maggie struggle to survive in the ruins of what was once the Island of Manhattan. The ultra-wealthy have taken refuge in climate-controlled bubbles spanning over entire sections of the formerly booming metropolis.
