Ich skippe so gut wie nie durch die Kapitel. Aber bei diesem Titel habe ich es nicht vermeiden können. Es dauert über acht Stunden, bis die Protagonisten endlich miteinander reden und davor passiert nur sehr wenig, was man als Spannungsbogen beschreiben könnte. Die Bedrohung der weiblichen Hauptperson wird zwischendurch immer mal wieder erwähnt, im Vordergrund stehen die inneren Betrachtungen der Handelnden in Endlosschleife. Und auch die letzten zwei Stunden sind äußerst detaillierte Beschreibungen der äußerst zögerlichen Annäherung/Entscheidungsfindung, ob es denn nun endlich zu einer Familiengründung kommt.
Rosalyn Landor liest gewohnt gut, aber auch recht getragen und langsam. Wird somit dem Duktus des Werks gerecht.

Rosalyn Landor is amazing as usual, but the story is the most stupid book I have ever listened to. Ten hours of reading completely unnecessary if the protagonists would have one simple conversation, about 17 seconds long. Literally nothing happens!! Don’t waste your time!! Listen to some other book, please!
