Sweet sexy friends to lovers college romance
This is the second book in the On My Own series, and my first read/listen by Carrie Anne Ryan.
My Rebound is a sweet, sexy, passionate Friends to Lovers college romance with low drama and angst.
Mackenzie Thomas thought she had her future all planned out, life, studies and the guy who was supposed to be her forever, but everything seemed to change when she found out about her long-time boyfriend´s betrayal. From that moment, it seemed everything she´d dreamed of and worked for is taken away from her. Thankfully, she has friends who stand by her and do everything to keep her spirits up, especially this one handsome Brit who may offer more than just friendship.
Pacey Ziglar is the perfect guy, kind, polite, handsome, sexy, the total dreamboat, but he is also her ex-boyfriend’s former roommate and has his own secrets, which he is reluctant to share. He offers Mackenzie to be her Rebound but will this Rebound become her forever?
I really enjoyed this story because it´s relatable. I can identify with Mackenzie a lot, as, like her, I am a planner and had similar experiences. Isn´t it funny sometimes how you find a story that pretty much resembles part of your own life?
This story is about facing unexpected challenges like betrayal, despair, sexism, new feelings, but it is also about hope, love and friendship. It reminds us that plans sometimes don’t go the way we want and that we just have to move on and make new ones, take a chance or go with the flow.
A swoony Shane East and a lovely Emma Wilder are responsible for this aural delight. They are, as always, fantastic! I can listen to Shane any day as his voice just makes me smile and swoon. I love listening to Emma because her male voice is a swoon fest all by itself.
