‘Poetic and affecting’ - Robert Antoni, The Washington Post
Mr Potter, a taxi driver from Antigua, makes his living along the winding roads that pass through the only towns he has ever known. He sleeps, eats, drives, and tries to shake off his past. The sun shines squarely overhead, the ocean lies on every side, and suppressed passion fills the air.
From Jamaica Kincaid, one of today’s most accomplished writers, Mr Potter is an original, spellbinding portrait of a man and an island.
Now in the Picador Collection.

What a writer – elegant, uncompromising, simultaneously direct and layered and complex.
