    Inhaltsangabe

Despite being published in 1851, Moby Dick appears at number 17 in The Guardian’s ‘The 100 best novels written in English’; a testament to its continued popularity. This dramatic adaptation by Audible member favourite Marty Ross stars David Morrissey as Captain Ahab who is determined to get his revenge on the one and only Moby Dick.

We join our narrator Ishmael and the crew of Pequod for its final voyage as Captain Ahab leads them in to dangerous waters on his quest to find and kill the whale who ate his leg: Moby Dick. As his determination grows and sacrifices are made the crew worry that his obsession has become unhealthy - but at what lengths will Captain Ahab go to in order to catch that whale?

Brilliant! I want more of this!

I downloaded this as an experiment, not expecting too much. In the past I tried to start reading Moby Dick as a book, only to get bored by about one third. This dramatisation turned out to be absolutely superb. Old-style radio play format. Great acting, great soundscapes, well done. I am not going to spew more glowing words of praise on this piece, it's just perfect. I did not know Audible offers also this format of books, now I want more of this. Certainly I am going to check out more from the company which did this (Wireless Theatre Company, UK). Thanks, thanks and thanks!
