A boy learns to be brave, an old hermit learns to trust that the boy will stay, in/on/under a mountain full of magical statues. That's it. Nothing bad happens beyond burned breakfast and a large cat. Cozy, charming, friendly. There could have been a little more of a hurdle here and there for the characters, imo, everything goes very smoothly.
Perfect goodnight story.
