Pain is a natural part of life. We all experience disappointments. Not getting the promotion we wanted at work or finding out that the person we like is involved with another person. We get sad when we lose the people we love, when a relationship doesn't work, our best friend leaves, or someone we care about dies. We may feel angry when something we believe is unfair, be it an oil spill, a racist comment, or someone blocking us in traffic.

What happens when other people don't understand your emotions and these emotions cause havoc in your life's relationships? This experience is known as dysregulation of emotions.
