In the pursuit of justice, there was nowhere Marshal Oliver Blackstone wouldn’t go to apprehend a fugitive. Whether that meant facing the forces of nature or the evils of men, once he was on your trail, there was no getting rid of him. But what happens when that fugitive isn’t just another nameless outlaw? What if he’s a colleague and a friend whose reasoning is understandable, although flawed? A ruthless band of vigilantes, intent on avenging one of their associates, rips apart the life of one of Marshal Blackstone's own deputies, presenting the deputy with a decision he never would have imagined possible. Does he choose to uphold his badge and allow justice to unfold, or does he forsake his years of dedication and embark on a path of vengeance? As a deputy whose skills with a six-gun once placed him at the top of J.C. Cavanaugh’s “List,” every marshal west of Austin, Texas, was aware of his reputation, but all respect aside, were he to start meting out justice vigilante style, he’d be a man headed for a dark horizon, and someone would have to hunt him down and bring him in. That someone was Marshal Oliver Blackstone, and dead or alive, his deputy was coming back to Santa Fe.©2024 Riano D. McFarland (P)2025 Riano D.
