He's called the Harbinger, a serial killer using Georgia and Florida as his hunting and dumping ground. But when he sends a letter to the federal/state task force that has assembled to find him, he leaves a mark that immediately catches Kate and Weston's attention: The circumpunct. The symbol of the Beast.
But when Kate, Weston, and Christopher journey to Florida to take a closer look, they're sidelined in Apalache Springs, where a friend of Kate's - a retired judge - has been arrested for drunk driving and assault on a police officer.
As Kate tries to help her old friend, Christopher soon finds himself controlled by a spirit who wants payback for a decades-old murder. A spirit who sees Kate as the instrument of her revenge.
