This seminal, celebrity-packed story relives Linda Lane’s journey as a talented, somewhat naïve 20-something-year-old trying to find success as a screenwriter in 1970s Hollywood. Linda is at the center of it all, as pop culture collides with science, and a promising new technology threatens to buckle under the weight of inconsistent finances, questionable deal making, and unbridled hedonism. The industry machine puts her ambitious vision of merging film with the budding art of holography to the ultimate test, amid a swirling pool of eccentric scientists, movie stars, rock stars, artists, executives, Hollywood sharks, and assorted hustlers.
Memorable and often surprising, Laser Lady Meets the Light Junkies is both a history of early holography and a personal coming-of-age memoir.
