Jes Baker is doing important work, and I appreciated her frank and funny account of her life. And while I appreciate the impact of having an author read their own work, especially when it's autobiographical, I do wish Baker had gotten professional voice coaching before recording this. She has a tendency to read every sentence with exactly the same intonation, and it got really monotonous and tiring to listen to after a while - which is a shame, given the power of her words.
